(CANCELLED) Training & Education Session

CANCELLED…. On Tuesday 24th March we will be running a session on “The Industrial Schools of New South Wales”. If you have lost track of a family member or cannot locate them, maybe they ended up in an Industrial School, where orphans, neglected children and others under the age of eighteen could be sent. These schools maintained very good records of any inmates, so it is something worth checking.  The session will be conducted by Lesley Abrahams and will run from 11am-12 noon. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. You must book with Linda Barnes on 6887 8284 or email her at martinandlinda@gmail.com

Training and Education Program CANCELLED.

It doesn’t matter if you are new to family history research or have been researching for years, there is sure to be something here for you to learn from and enjoy. The first in our series will be held on Tuesday 25 February 11am – 12 noon. The subject is ‘Painting a picture of your ancestors using diaries, letters and images’. While you might have your ancestor’s name, dates and the towns they lived, what about filling the void of the life they lived? By using your family’s and other people’s diaries, letters, books, newspapers, images, paintings, etc. we can build a picture of what life was like for your ancestor during a particular period of time.  Our presentator will be Jo Murphy.
