The last Share Your Story for this year will be held on 20th October2023 at 2pm. We have been fortunate to engage Di Chase to share her story of Alexander Barclay Black and the nascent salmonindustry in Australia. It will be in the usual venue of the Drama Room, which is upstairs at the WPCC in Wingewarra Street, Dubbo. The last course in our series of four will be held on Monday 6th November, 10.30-11.30 in the music room next to our family history rooms at the Cultural Precinct. This final course will help you learn how to access and interpret Australian War Records. Numbers will be limited , so you must register by Thursday, 2nd November, to attend this course. Dubbo & District Family History will be conducting several short training sessions in the second half of the year. These courses are for anyone in the community interested in researching their family story. Register by: Thurs. 29/6. Monday 7th August, 10.30am-11.30am – Convicts – how to locate and understand convict records. Register by: Thurs. 3/8 Monday 4th September, 10.30am-11.30am – UK Census records – finding your ancestors and the valuable information in UK census records. Register by: Thurs. 31/8 No course in October………………. Monday 6th November, 10.30am-11.30am – WW1 & WW11 – discover how to access and interpret Australian war records. Register by: Thurs. 2/11. There will be a cost of $10 per session for non-members and $5 persession for members of Dubbo Family History Society.
